Hi Doris_Pinks... I engage in what I'm hoping will be an Olympic sport by 2012... slug slinging. Might appear as simple as putting the slug on the trowel & slinging, but there's a lot of skill involved. Angle of wrist flick, trajectory, wind resistance of slug. I could go on but I suspect you may have a life to lead. My record is 3.25 miles.

Any other nutters engage in strange allotment-related sports?

 ;D ;D

Love the slug dance!

When I had a plot and made comfrey "tea" the trick was to check the distance at which the resulting whiff felled a passing allotmenteer. Record was 5.23 feet!

;)

How about the snail crunch?  Something really satisfying about that one!   ;D
