Title: Rhubarb from seed
Post by: runnerbean on September 28, 2008, 15:31:53
I grew 2 rhubarb from seed this year in pots - they are dying off now and I would love some advice on what to do next so that I may harvest(hopefully) rhubarb next year. Thank you.

They will still not be strong enough to for you to pull the rhubarb next year.  Even when rhubarb crowns are transplanted,  it is recommended not to harvest for the first year to allow the crop to establish itself fully for future years crops.  Grown from seed means they could take another year or two before being strong enough to harvest.

There are a few ideas here:

Thank you for your prompt reply, on reading the link perhaps it is best to leave them happy in their pots for now!  Will they be OK outside or should I put them in the unheated greenhouse?

No harm leaving them in the greenhouse.  Either or.
