Title: Manure on a bed of leeks?
Post by: Hyacinth on September 28, 2008, 13:34:16
(I was wondering if this should be in Basics....apols if this is in the wrong place :-[)

I've a long garden border which has fruit bushes and into which I've fitted 80 leeklet plants which are all doing well.  I'd already decided that the whole border needed more soil and I'd ear-marked the emptied out tubs and containers of summer stuff for this.

BUT!!....I took possession yesterday of twenty-three bags of well-rotted 8).....I'm so itching to scatter this hither&yon....please, it is really well-rotted....it will benefit the fruit bushes I know, but....the leeks?

Thanks.

Leeks like a well manured soil. However it must be well drained as the hearts can rot. They like a moist soil. :)
