Title: The flowers on my allotment
Post by: Tee Gee on September 17, 2008, 17:04:32
I use part of my allotment to grow Spray Chrysanthemums & Gladioli plus I have a nursery bed for growing on collections.

This year I have tried Penstemons.

I grew a load of Cosmos round the boundary they needed to be kept in control but every one asked about them because they attracted so many flying insects.

For the first time in 11 years the carrots did not get carrot fly either. Don't know if this was the reason but worthy of note

Funny you should say that i planted flowers all around the boundry of the plot and mostly stuff I couldn't bring myself to throw away from the garden.Had no trouble with carrot fly or any other fly come to think of it. :D
