Hello! I'm sure you'd like to introduce yourselves to me! - I'm Hyacinth...Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced 'Bouquet' a la francaise) and my Young Friend Daniel, something of an "IT" man I believe (a sort of
masculine Tara Palmer Tomkinson I've always thought), has directed me to this site.
I'm sure that we all will have lots of things in common.. oh! I mean, perhaps we'll all have lots of shared
interests? Haven't the roses been splendid this year! But do tell me...dead-heading them? Now I insist that my hubby wears a tie when he does this....I remember dear Percy Thrower did likewise? I'm certain that the roses also respond to this Respect owing to our National Flower - despite standards, sadly fallen, these days.... I'm sure that you will agree?
I see from a perusal of your forums that there is a big organic movement here....hubby has had a few problems in that area but Movelat has, happily, solved that problem and those squirty-outy air
freshener thingys one buys from Tesburys with the aroma of field-cropped lavender are a blessing at times like this, aren't they?
But I digress....I Support Organic! Every Saturday evening I do my Bit for the Developing World by nibbling a square or two, or three or four, of The Most Excellent Organic Green & Black's Dark Chocolate, bought...... from the Co-Op!!! What a find!
And, without wanting, for Heaven's Sake! to put my name to an endorsement of their products, per se, I can really recommend their FREE BLACK BUKKITS....just my bit, you know, modest as it is, to offer up to the members here....not that I shop there myself, of course, but my sisters do, and sing their praises.....probably collected their Stamps too, I'd imagine..Bless!
Well then! Enough of this! I'm off now to read of your Trials and Tribulations with blight etc.etc.....I wonder how my friend Alishka has coped, poor soul. Nice lady, but delusions of grandeur, I thought, when I saw her poor little browned-off wizzened Beefeater tomatoes this morning...serious case of anorexia, I thought, those tomatoes had....
TTFN!!!
Hyacinth
Well Lish! Or should that be: well Lish? Well I never! ;D ;D ;D

In answer to your question, yes it is much better to deadpan, I mean deadhead, wearing a tie!!! :)
Hello! Back in Lish mode, can't keep that Hyacinth persona up......the boned corsets are crippling and I need to take them off !! :-[
I'd asked Dan for a change of name cos when we migrated en masse from Auntie Beeb we brought our Beeb names with us? 'Hyacinth' was a Group decison, cos after all.....wot's my Claim to Fame then? ::)
Mind you....GrannieAnnie came up with a blinder ....."De-lish-ka"???
hmmmm...
Fancied that 8) 8) 8)
I never knew about the group decision :'( :'( & i was on the beeb with you. :'(
