Well, we're paddling through to the end of the summer hols now and the new scholastic year for you will get into full swing next week.
Just want to wish you all a good year and thank you for the work you do.
Roll on Christmas! ::)
Lishka
Thanks Lish! Here in Edinburgh we're about to embark on week 4. :o :o
Just back this week..yep roll on half termXX Jeannine
We've been back two weeks already... only 185 days to the big hols!!
::)
Back to work for me tomorrow.
Training day on Monday followed by the children on Tuesday.
It is funny how I expect to use the Summer break to good effect in the garden but this summer most of the days have been spoiled by rain :'(
As an ex-teacher, I have to say I feel a sense of relief when the schools go back, that I'm not doing it any more! But my hat goes off to all those who are. Having said that, I've just started a new job as a guidance tutor at Citizens Advice, so will be finding out whether adults are any easier to teach!
although my new persona (Hyacinth ::)) talks of her son working at a 'polytechnic of university standards' I wanted in this post to recognise all the hard and valued work all teachers do these days and offer my thanks. Today's children are our future?
I'm (almost) mid-60's (read and mentally delete!) but back then all teachers were afforded respect, their profession was just that....a respected profession and children were mostly 'biddable'??...I'm sick of reading that teaching's an 'easy option' with hey! great paid holidays.
And that prompted my post. Don't have school-age children (I'd be coining it in if I did, at my age ;D);don't have grands being educated in this country; don't have a particular personal interest then.....just...
Thanks to you all. Wish all the CEO's in this Country had your salary for a year and you, ward nurses, care assistants, etc. had theirs......hey! why only a YEAR?
Went back last week after a very short summer holiday - can't wait for July!!!! ::)
I would like to say a big thankyou to Jack Bradley and Mr Howlet going back to 1963, Science teacher and woodwork teacher, had slaps of the both of them but Mr Howlet did take me into the cloakroom and put the fear of god into me when I told him to 'goaway', after all these years I'm a better person, it taught me to keep mi mouth shut at the right time :)
;D ;D ;D
Kids back on Monday! I have a wonderful new music room, so quite looking forward to starting, won't be saying this in a few weeks though! ;)
