Title: Lidl Strawberries
Post by: thifasmom on August 29, 2008, 22:37:19
Hi everyone, i bought strawberry plants from Lidl i think in March, they have been cropping since May (actually got them with flowers and immature fruits but they all fell off, but i expected that might have happened) the are still fruiting and was also able to propagate about 12 new plants off of them. i don't know what variety they as there wasn't any name on the packaging except 'strawberries' ::) and was wondering if anyone else bought these or new what variety they might have been, or could someone advise me on a variety that is long fruiting. i also got nameless ones from Morrison's, but they were later to fruit, prone to caterpillar damage and fruit rot and with no runners at all. so i will probably replace them with the Lidl ones.

Yes, I bought the Lidle ones as well, and have been pleasantly surprised that they have done so well. They must be perpetual ones as they have flowered so long. Sadly, there was no name on the container.
