Aren't they some of the most stunning creatures on earth? Took these in the butterfly tent at London Zoo yesterday.

I saw one like the bottom one while on holiday walking the pembrokeshire Coast.
Today I went to say hello to one of the guy's on my allotment site and he's got two buddleia bushes and as I went past a cloud of butterflies took flight...it was amazing!
great those butterflies, but what hard they are to put on film.
Lovely photos Ollie :) So nice to see as we hardly have any in our garden this year, only the dreaded CW's. I think they are definitely on the decline :'(
Great pics. I have seen quite a number of butterflies just recently. I had a few in my garden last week and keep seeing them in the buddlei dotted here n there.
Fabulous pics Ollie. We were lucky enough to see clouds of common Blues this morning on the Peddars Way in Norfolk, but I haven't seen them anywhere else this year.
lovely pics, olliec..thy seem to come and go with the weather here, lots of the brown, spotty ones around when the thistles were flowering :)
Usually clouds (mainly Peacocks) on our Buddleia - this year none!!
Sadly a dearth of butterflies, bees and ladybirds in my garden this year so your beautiful photos are even more welcome Ollie!
Beautiful shots and new ones to me.
Yes lovely shots Ollie, well captured.
