Post by: theothermarg on August 27, 2008, 21:24:47
Went to Berkeley castle today and saw this fruit  bush/tree.I,m afraid I broke a rule and tasted the fruit which looked like a blackberry except the thick trunk and leaves.I got my comeupance for doing this (and in front of my grandkids too :-[)
by getting a big red stain on my white top as it was very juicy

I used to do that!

The next door plot was empty and had autumn raspberries, so I used to pick them but too ashamed to do it when anyone was looking!

Other people do weird things like grow tomatoes and beans and put in all the hard work, then b***r off when they're actually ripe, and let them drop on the floor and rot.

why do their veg always look tastier then mine?  ;)

Marg, what if that tree had poisonous fruit??

My father in law was living in Guyana once and picked something he was sure was sugarcane and tasted it despite his wife's warning.
His mouth turned into a huge blister!
