Title: radish???

we put some 'summer crunch' radish in and picked them today on the due date  and they are HUGE.
up to 4 inches long and about 5 inch round
what can we do with them????please????
can they be cooked or are they just for salads??

Can you actually cut them? Mine were inedible after a very short while.

this time of year radishes grow huge, and they're usually not woody at all

They cut very well and taste great

I just wondered if there was anything i could do with them except eating in a salad.
I've got a recipe for winter radish but it doesnt say wether summer ones can be used

The Ostergruss grow huge and I've been slicing them into stir fries. 8)

I would have thought any recipe for Winter Radish woyuld be fine for these too...  :)

Emaggie, the Ostergruss a few of us have been raving about come from seeds bought at Lidl....bout 49p a packet?

Cor! that sounds about right to me  ;D I'm the only raddish eater here and don't normally bother growing them but I was given some seeds. Didn't think I'd bother again but maybe I will ;D Thanks Lish.

Here they are, and it gets better.....29p a packet! 8) Tell you what I'll do if you want - I've a packet I bought this year for next...I'll split it with you if you want...PM me your address :)
