Title: sixth show of the season
Post by: LesH on August 25, 2008, 08:52:01
I entered a two day show in a nearby town. It was wet when we were displaying our exhibits. but yesterday evening when we collected our exhibits the field resembled a ploughed field, despite putting down many bales of straw.
a pair of cucumbers, nothing
two lettuce, before putting my entry form in I checked the row over and picked out two, but when pulling time came rain had taken one out, so forfeited that one
a truss of cherry tomatoes, gardeners delight, nothing
12 striggs of currants, redcurrants, second
20 raspberries, autumn bliss, first
a dish of any other fruit,, loganberries first
a cup for the best exhibit in the fruit and vegetable section on the show.
it cost £1.80 to enter and my winnings were £5.50
