no theyve not suddenly decided to grow, theyre trying to flower!!! sob!! :'( does this mean ive lost them n need to pull them and eat them now?? and why??? why???? all this rain idve thought theyd be ok? some of my white onions have started to rot in the damp but i thought my leeks would fare better??
to top it off the slugs had a field day thru the potato patch and have eaten all the teeny yellow courgettes, yellow beans and the yellow baby pumpkins, why are they eating all things yellow? green beans and courgettes not so badly off thankfuly (or should i say marrows) but argh!! flowering leeks and slugs munching the pumpkins, im never going to have a decent crop!
They've razored the skin off a couple of my immature pumpkins too!! Leeks shouldn't be flowering now, when did you transplant them? :-\
I brought back leek seedlings from Germany in early March, planted them out, they have grown enormous and one has bolted (ate the whole thing, flower and all, this evening in a Thai curry), but all my own seedlings are still growing on for the winter.
So again, how old are your leeks?
