Hello
I have got tons of blackberries! I know how to make apple and blackberry pie/crumble but dont really know what else I can do with them. Does anybody know if blackberries make good jam?

Blackberry jelly is good. Should be loads of recipes on this site. I just strain it through a fine seive. The fridge is full of it. Or blackberries freeze for crumble, pies later in the year.
I made a blackberry bread and butter pudding the other night, was delish!
I make blackberry and apple jam which I love, and also freeze them to use later on when life is quieter. They don't need any preparation, just bag them up in usable quantities, or open freeze then bag up. I think of them as my black jewels as they look wonderful frozen and remind me of summer in January! I know, I am sad! ::)
I also have a nice recipe for blackberry cheesecake which freezes, but can't lay my hands on it at the moment.

Seconded! I think I might make this at the end of my 3 course instead of blueberry ice cream <slurp>
blackberry upside down cake is easy and lovely - put blackberries in the bottom of a pie dish or cake tin, then put sponge cake mixture over it and bake.
I cook and sieve mine to get the pips out. I add sugar and a bit of cornflour to make a sauce consistency and then freeze it in sealable bags. I use this when thawed to add to apples or use as a sauce over bananas and topped with yoghurt
We have lots too.
Made bramble jelly - 900g blackberries got us 1 measly jar of jelly. Looks good though! Will make more tomorrow;
Warmed 900g blackberries with 100ml water
- simmer until soft - think we didnt leave long enough...
leave overnight to drain through muslin/jelly bag
Measure juice - for every 570 ml juice add 450g sugar and juice of one large lemon - carry on as for normal jam...
Also fantastic recipe for baked cheesecake on goodfood website - raspberries used in recipe but seriously good with blackberries...
most compliments i've ever had...!

Try making your bramble, AKA blackberry jelly with no added water.. to die for. My John's favourite.
