Title: Potato problem
Post by: Susiebelle on August 20, 2008, 10:12:42
I was thrilled with my Nadine potato harvest and cleaned the spuds up, sorting into med/large and then smaller ones and stored in hessian sacks.  I used some of the large ones yesterday and found that even though the outside looked perfect once cut into the centres are rotten some having a cavity :'( :'(. What have I done wrong?

Wireworm can be a nasty potato pest.

Wouldn't there be a hole on the outside if it was wireworm?

Here's stuff on potato rot from the RHS:

Quite often its due to a sudden increase in water - heavy rain etc.. I dont thinks its a disease. Some of mine are the same, normally the effects biggest ones too.
