Looks like a very large slug to me!  Is it special then?

Common as muck, but come in 3 different colours, all the same species! (black, orange, creamy white) Omnivorous  species which eats carrion and dung as well as vegetation. Prefers rotting veg to fresh, rarely does any damage (eats cat sh*t!)  Often seen on freshly mown lawns and verges, in large numbers after daytime rain. (They do get bigger, up to 20 cm)  ;)

 Rarely does any damage? You're having a laugh. If you want proof come round my house about half ten at night with a torch and we'll go have a look at the cabbages. I don't care what colour they are they're guilty as charged when caught in the act. Catch enough and you're scraping off the slime before washing your hands. I agree about the cat sh*t , if it wasn't so foul I'd consider using it as bait.

this particular type of slug doesn't eat living plant matter! all the others are a nuisance, but none of them like seaweed as a mulch around your plants.  ;)
