Not particularly good advice without pointing out what problems may occur when planting your own potato sets and not certified ones

Thank you all for your reply's, I have not been a gardener for long, found a lot from internet and books, I have tried all the somes locally but all sold out, the last lot I did was bought from aldi they started sprouting so I put them in, they had blight realy bad, not sure if that was the pots or just blight in general I will keep looking fopr some.

Ask around on your allotments - maybe a fellow plotter will have some spares.

If your really worried about disease - you'd probably be better off buying some good supermarket ones and using them - they'd probably have less chance of having disease. When i mean good ones i mean not your standard Tesco's / JS baby new potatoes as i'm convinced these are just surplus small main crop spuds.

Vivaldi and Charlotte are both second earlies and good for container growing. I'm thinking of trying Exquisa from Tescos
