Had our first ones ever tonight, boiled & served with some of yesterdays gravy & butter. Very very disappointing flavour. I think I'll take my chances with flavour & blight next year!
We tried them in 2005 (I think they were new to this country then, or at least that's what they said at the potato fair). We weren't impressed, and wouldn't consider them again. Would prefer to have flavour (with the risk of losing all to blight).
I thought they were late main croppers? Our late mains are still in the ground, haulms were cut off last week.
To be honest i have been dissapointed with all the spuds this year, to much rain made big spuds but no flavour :(
We had Jersey royals big enough for jacket potatoes !!!

All our new spuds were huge. Next year we're going to experiment by planting them closer together.
I grew these in 2007 - but have been banned from doing so again by the family - who refused to eat any of them! They have a very floury taste - and also are a pain to cook as they fall apart easily.
On the plus side , some grew really big, but when cut up - they were mostly hollow.
I'm sticking to King Edwards in future.
I'm just going to agree with all who have responded so far.
They look brilliant and avoid all blight, but they are just so dull and tasteless.
This year I went for Verity and Sante and King Edwards as main crops - they have had to have the haulms cut down this week because of blight, but what is in the ground at least tastes of something!
Sooner or later the sarpos will be bred into something tastier, but for now I am avoiding them.
To add insult to injury, from Tim's post you don't appear to get much blight resistance either!
