:) Are you sure thats not a Pumpkin ???
yep pretty certain, if you look in the photo beside it is what it should look like and the only pumpkins i have in look like this
:D
Well I would Be saying it is a Pumpkin ..But I may be wrong never seen a cor like that before !!
well never say never cos the garden looks like a jungle but would have put money on it being a round courgette, dont mind if its a pumkin just want it to be edible lol
;D
See if anyone else say's diff , but i would treet as a pumpkin ;D ;D
edible for sure but it will depend on what the inside is like, might have got a bit woody but there's only one way to find out ;D
If you grew the tennis ball courgettes then it is one. I grew them and even though I didn't go away this year I still ended up with a few that size, I must say that variety are great croppers even too great, (note to self only one of those plants next year). The first one that got away I stuffed with mince and veges and baked, the second I deseeded and turned into courgette cake, and the third I removed the seeds and spongy center, then I sliced thickly and used them as part of one of my layers in lasagna, oh yeah and a couple that almost got to that size became soup twice. So to answer your question, yep they are edible.
thanks all of you yes i grew round courgettes not sure of the variety but pretty sure this is one of them ;D
Deb , it is OK, you can eat it, it won't be woody, but it may be a bit bland for taste. It is a summer squash so t won't have the dense flesh like a pumpkin which is a winter one so you can't use it in the same way as them , it won't have as much flavour as a regular sized courgette but it is useable. I would treat it as a marrow and perhaps stuff it to give it more flavour.
Fun ain't it...

I had an overgrown courgette last night, stuffed with mince and covered in bechamel sauce and a sprinkle of cheese - YUM!!!!!!!!!
;D ;D ;D ;D
its great when you go hunting through the jungle of plants and find a beauty like that, the picture i am on about is the green one not the orangey yellow one, i really thought it was a courgette.
the yellowy one is one of those microwavable pumpkins that got a little larger
Make Great Soup as well
The little pumpkin is different Deb, it will continue to grow while it is maturing so there is no such thing as one left too long, so you don't need to rush to pick them, they will stay on the vine till the plant is dead with no problem. Enjoy you oversized courgy.

I grow a round courgette called Tondo di Piacenza (from Seeds of Italy) but there are plenty of similar varieties
Just had my overgrown round courgette tonight, hollowed out and filled with a good spicy chilli and then baked for 40 mins. Lovely and low fat/calorie as well!
We had a round courgette nearly the size of a football for dinner last night! Stuffed it with spuds, lentils, turnip, carrots, tomatoes, onions, garlic, chilli and herbs and a veggie oxo to make a gravy ish. 15 mins in the microwave then put a cheese and breadcrumb on top and put in the oven for 30 mins. Was yummy.
Enjoy !

That sounds good :)
Cant you hollow it out and use it as a shed?
