just got back from hols to find haulms dead to ground. dug all spuds (1st & 2nd earlies). from each plant some look fine, some have tea coloured brown patches on skin but not into flesh and some have gone rotten (but would say these were damaged anyway). would like to salvage some. can i eat now if they have these patches? should i risk storing or just bin the lot? thanx
Bummer.
The diseased spuds have an odd taste...
The Irish Potato Famine in the early 19th century was a blight based disaster.
So I guess that eating the spuds is going to be a no-no
Hi can I just say that, I have just had a crop of pots that had blight, I have eaten some, as I did not think that the pots would hurt me if not to damaged, I am still here, they tasted not too bad, not as nice as my earlies grown in rubble bags though, they where realy nice.
I do, but only the white bits!
