Title: FIRE DAMAGED CROPS
Post by: stevie77 on August 16, 2008, 18:54:21
The new guy on the plot adjoining mine has taken down the old greenhouse and burnt it  :-\
andin the process has damaged not only his sprouts but everything along the edge of my plot

so i have cabbage, sprouts, peas, carrots, sweetcorn, broccoli, kale plus various herbs that all look as if they have been dipped in bleach >:(

does anyone know how this will affect the plants and the produce i've been looking forward to?
do i need to get rid of them?   or is it worth keeping them??

any advice please
steve

i would think if it just scorched leaves i would wait a while to see if the plants will recuperate. if a lot of leaves were affected the plant may die its a Wait and see i think, but if the whole plant has keeled over then its probably a goner.

sorry about that happening though.

I don't know the answer but I would like to send you my sympathies for having such a plonker as a neighbour.

Hope your crops recover.

stevie7 sorry to hear about your issue.

When you say it looks like they have been dipped in bleach does that mean there covered in ash??

Do they let you have fires?

a spray with a seaweed solution wouldn't go amiss!  ;)
