Title: chilli Plant Problem
Post by: milkybardave on August 12, 2008, 21:55:57
Hi all

Can anyone help me?

I have a chilli plant (not sure of variety as label did not say, but looks to me very much like a jalepeno) purchased from Lidls and grown on under glass. It has produced lots of fruit and is still producing more flowers.

The problem I have is that quite a few leaves have a yellow mottling effect on them, does this mean there is a deficency of some kind??

No pics available I'm afraid!

Any help appreciated.

Dave

Might be the dreaded spider mite?  If so the best solution is to spray the plants thoroughly each day with tepid water.

I have the same chilli plant purchased from lidl, it had a similar problem and lower leaves went yellow and dropped off, it seems to be recovering after i feed it with tomato feed.  whatever the problem is it doesnt seem to affect the chillies, it still manages to produce lots.

Loosing some leaves is quite normal in my experience... but a bit of a feed will probably perk it up!  :)

Thank you all

Will feed with tomato feed & let you know. (no spider mites seen anyway!)
