Title: how to change text size for printing from web pages or email ?
Post by: Hot_Potato on August 10, 2008, 22:38:55
since I've had my new laptop with Vista - some (most) of the 'stuff' I want to print out (say for info) always comes out with very tiny print so that I can barely see it, let alone read it! this also applies if I want to print out an email (maybe to browse away from the computer) before replying to it

Now I know how to change the text size 'on screen' so that I can see it bigger whilst reading from screen but....when I press print it reverts to the tiny weeny print which is no good at all!

I always look at the print preview before pressing print (from the file icon at top) and I can see it's going to be small but there's no option to make the text bigger - there's the option to alter the margins & headers and an option to 'shrink page' by various amounts but not to increase it (presume that means the text size)

does anyone have any advice please - I'd much appreciate it

I didn't have this problem when I had XP Home Edition

If you are using IE7 then choose print preview (the dropdown from the print icon) and adjust the % size there, often it is set to "shrink to fit"

Sunner thank you so much   - it's worked - I had to experiment a bit as initially I thought it only seemed to make it even small but by the time I'd adjusted to 100% I could see it was much improved and can now make it as big as I want if I need to.

All these months and I hadn't realised that's what you had to do!

Thanks HP
