Hi Folks,
We've just had a profitable few hours digging up a few of our potatoes. As we have only had the lottie since April the first thing we put in was these potatoes in the "old leek trench" (well 2/3 of it anyway). ;D

And here are the blue trays we inherited on the plot. ;D
From Left to right - Charlotte, Desire, King Edwards, & two trays of Valor.
We've just had some baked with butter on & I think the charlotte has the best flavour whilst the valor are huge floury ones for mashing. ;D
What are everyone elses favourites? ;D
(Sorry just can't stop smiling :D )

I've become a big fan of Charlotte this year. They were recommended by an old timer on our site and have been brilliant, dug the last of them today and very few with holes in (if you don't count where I stuck the fork through!)
Last year my favourite was Mimi- tiny but tasty!
Look fine. :D Fill the new gap with beetroot, spring onions, lettuce, radish, cauli, spring cabbage or a number of other stuff. 8)
Mushy, your soil looks fantastic!
I think I've harvested them later but even so my Charlotte's were enormous this year compared to last.
lovely crop-
my favourites and the ones that do best on my clayey soil are desiree and charlotte

Red Dukes for baking and roasting here... :)
I've also been impressed with Charlotte, also Witchhill (a.k.a. Snowdrop). Epicure has a lovely flavour, but very knobbly spuds! ;D
kestrel and desiree as normal but we tried rooster for the first time this year, well impressed ;D
