Title: When would you?
Post by: Sinbad7 on August 07, 2008, 18:37:56
If you were judging plot's, on a site, with no qualifications, when would you say was the best time to judge?  Well, even if you had any qualifications when would you think it a fair time to do the judging?

On our site, plot inspectors nominate plots for short-listing at the end of July, then committee members judge the short-list around now.  It's a good time because plots should be full, the variety of things being grown can be seen and because it's a busy time you can see who's teally on top of their plot.  If you wait until winter veg are in, summer veg are out - you pays your money, you takes your choice!

Around this part of the world the sites are usually judged the first week in july.
the results are made public at the local village and town shows, which are held during August.
