I take it that you're using Internet Explorer, hence the use of the word "Favourites".

Unless I'm missing something, all (ha!) you need to do is to rebuild your Favourites file.  Navigate to a favourite page (such as A4A homepage) and click on the yellow star with the word "Favorites" beside it.  If the yellow star has disappeared, then the word "Favorites" will appear in the top menu, and you can click on that instead.

Then select "Add" and the page that you're currently on will be added to the list, as per normal.

If the problem is that the yellow star "Favorites" large button has gone, you can easily reinstate it.  Right click on the top toolbar (light grey area), and a window will appear with a list of buttons on the left that are available, and a list of buttons on the right that you've currently got.  Select the yellow star from the left hand list and click on "Add".  It'll add the "Favorites" button to the display.

Apologies if I've misunderstood.

Give it a try before getting someone in - it's much better in all ways than IE

I think you're wise to get professional help.  That error message makes me very suspicious - it looks like the sort of thing that might be generated by a virus or some other sort of malware.  "Catastrophic Failure" just isn't the sort of phrase that Microsoft use ....

Looks like time to get a good Linux system and forget about virus. I've been using Ubuntu for many months with no virus problems as they just lay dormant (the system won't run them). Don't get those damned silly error messages either. It just works.

CASTOSTROPHIC FAILURE? I remember reading something like this in Computer Shopper, but I can't remember what they said about it - they have a website but I'm not sure what it is.
