Title: Aubergine problems
Post by: meg_gordon on August 05, 2008, 20:15:41
Hello everyone

I was given a present of an aubergine plant - I potted it on and I have had about 6 or 7 flowers, but after each one opens, it seems to wither, and eventually fall off.  Should I be pollinating the flowers or doing something else?   I have a flower just opened today.

Hand pollination can help... but I find after the first flush of flowers they tend to get their act together... be worried if fruit hadn't set yet though... so give it a go!  :-\

No-one at our allotments in Surrey has anything to show with aubergines this year.

Mine copped a late frost and gave up the ghost entirely.

Butternuts are all greenery and no fruit as well.

Tant pis.
