Thought I would post a few piccies of the pumpkin beds. Taken this morning.
They are looking really good Suzanne. Which varieties are they?
After a VERY slow start, mine have finally started growing. I planted one Atlantic Giant on top of a pile of rotted horse manure and bedding, in the corner of a large bed. It has now almost taken over the whole area and is making a bid for freedom through my compost heap. There is no room to walk on the bed any more so I can't see if it's producing anything. Someone told me to cut off the ends of shoots but I think that will just encourage more side shoots. What do you think?
I'll take a photo today if it isn't raining.
The ones in shot are - from L to R
Amish Pie
Godiva (grown for hull=less seeds)
Sprinter (Butternut)
Out of shot but doing well as well:
Crown Prince
Triamble
Jack be Little
Potimarron
Sucrine de Berry
Bush Buttercup
You are doing well!
Mine have suffered from planting out late this year. They were really ready to go out in early June, but I was waiting to harvest onions and potatoes before they got planted, so they are only just starting to run riot and fruit. I will have a bit more space next year, so hopefully they won't suffer the same fate! ;D
