I only walk 500 metres to my allotment. I know some people have to travel by car. Just wondered who travels the furthest distance. How far before it becomes a chore......
quarter of an hour by car ;D
12 mile bus journey to the allotment.
2.5 mile walk up a mountain road to the other piece of land I use, sometimes get a lift but it's only accessible in a 4x4 which limits who I can ask to drive me up there.
I can cycle there in 5 minutes, through the park, or walk in about 10 minutes. I just love being so near and would move nearer if possible. Some lucky people actually live in the next roads or backing onto the allotment and the playing fields which back onto the allotments. So it is a lovely peaceful place and just outside north London.
i can see my allotment from my house.
takes about two mins to walk to the gate
pete on our allotment is the luckest one of all . three steps out of his back gate and he is on the allotment. i teel you the man can even hear his veggies FART
so that would start another comp WHO LIVES THE CLOSEST
I live in the middle of mine!
and mine is over the back fence... which I took down! Now demarcated by the rose arch! ;D
5 minutes by bike, right behind my kids' primary school.
We have 2 plots which are 5 miles away and half a plot within 10 min walk which we are giving up in Oct cos the ground is to hard compared to the others. We ain't gettin any younger are we. lol
Not very far at all (lucky us) just a hop and a skip through the cul-de-sac and we are there although after a couple of hours work we have been known to crawl back! ;D Hel.xxx.
One plot five minutes' walk, the other 1.5 miles - five minutes drive.

I live in the corner of the allotments so the grass is my garden and the cultivated land is my lottie which is great when its looking good but its always looking at you when it needs weeding or its wet and you just want to get out there !!
5 min drive. If I backed onto plots like some do I would have an IR cam to record vandals and thieves!
I have a 15 min drive to my allotment... i wish it was nearer, but there are none available. And as we can have no sheds on our plot, i have to take everything with me.... have a folding chair and table for coffee/tea breaks.... very civillised....sort of!
3 to 4 min walk. ;D ;D ;D
I reckon Baccy Man gets the prize for endurance and Tim gets the booby prize for being easy peasy and maybe Saddad as runner up ;D
5 min walk... Also 5 minutes drive if we have to take stuff with us as you have to go the long way around in the car.
5/10 minute drive, although im after getting a bike to cycle there, more green, and i reckon it would be a 20 minute bike ride, thru the park
x
15 minute walk /3 min cycle ride
5 minute walk to the bus stop then 20 minute bus ride then 10 minute walk
