Title: how to prepear the ground

ive managed to clear a plot so i can sow my carrots and eventually transplant my cabbages and cauli  but do i need to treat the soil with anything first.
im going to clear the rest of the allotment and make 3 more beds and cover them with manure and black sheets and forget about it untill  sowing time  next time around

but for these few things i can sow now  what needs to be done to the ground  ty liza x

If I were you Lizagrowbag I would just rake some general fertilizer(Growmore or chicken manure pellets its what they use around here) in for now,but if you have some well well rotted manure you could put some of that on thats all I am using for now and gonna apply manure later in the year,if it is not well rotted(I am not an expert)it may burn your roots on your plants killing them off  ;D
