Look what I found on my conservatory floor yesterday. I think he accidently flew in and the heat was too much for him. The thermometer in the conservatory yesterday was reading 38 degrees C.

Is it a dragonfly? I put him (or would it be a her) on my pear tree yesterday and this morning he is still there. But we have had a little rain this morning and he looks a little better, he is flapping his wings a bit and cleaning his face, looks like he is enjoying a little moisture.
Beautifull, I would say its a dragonfly, but no idea what particular species.
It is Jess!!
It's got the four wings that I think always make them look like little bi-planes when in flight. Damselflies are gernerally smaller and thinner and have two wings that when they rest come together over their backs.
I think it may be a Common Aeshna (Aeshna Juncea) -try googling under that name and see if it looks the same.
Eileen.
Eileen I think you're right. I did a Google and it seems like it must be a female as it has yellow and brown markings. Thanks :D
