Well tonight's work is all done and my back is sore.
Lifted my onions and garlic.
Really pleased with the size of some of them. Good crop this year.

Wow your garlic looks great - i would be very proud.... ;D
wow very well done id be so proud also
Thanks, actually makes me sad that this section of ground is now empty. Not sure If I could do much with it other than digging over.
Already have lots of lettuce growing so thats no use. Hmmm may need to have a think.
just sowed phacelia in our garlic bed, it's having spuds in next year so, when we cut it down, it will be topped up with manure ;D
Look good Chris
I'm with the Manics here, get some green manure in.
My onions are stilll in the ground but I plan to sow Phacelia immediately after lifting.
They look good, well done

Ordered, thanks for the tip! ;)
Just ahead of me Manics... my Phacalia and vetches arrived in the post this morning. I'd have left the onions a bit longer with such good top growth Chris, but I did leave my garlic too long and we had rain so all the bulbs are splitting into cloves!! :-[

I waas thinking of that, but quite a few had bolted so I thought i best start lifting them for storage, though not sure how long they will last anyway ;)
Any tips on the best (or cheapest) place to get phacelia seeds from manics - I'm planning to sow lots of green manure in my free space this year, hoping it will improve my soil a bit, so will be needing lots!
we get ours from king's..because the association is part of nsalg, we get ours at a discount :)
