Nice photosTeeGee.  It all looks great  - but where are the weeds and brown spotty leaves :) ?

Actaul just one genuine question: why do you grow french beans 'under glass'?  I don't think I've seen that before.

Thanks!

::)Now you don't expect me to photograph the grotty bits do you?  8)

I will say this and that is; the farmer that I get my muck from certainly doesn't use that dodgy weedkiller that has been discussed recently here on A4A.

Every where I have mucked and don't normally weed e.g. potatoes, is knee high in weeds this year.

Must have a word with him this backend when I get my next load. >:(

Bit of a story attached to that one.

Two years ago I was judging some allotments and I saw that one of the tenants growing his 'Cobra'  this way. He gave me a handful for my dinner plate and they were gorgeous.

The following year I bought this variety and like you I thought I would grow them outdoors. I didn't have much success but then again last year was a bad year all round.

So this year I thought I would try them in the tunnel, this time with some success.

It is my opinion if I still showed veg, I would clear the boards with these.

Next year I might have another go at outdoors with a few under cover for insurance.

This is my set up; http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/My%20set%20up/My%20Set%20up.htm (http://www.thegardenersalmanac.co.uk/Data/My%20set%20up/My%20Set%20up.htm)

plus I have an 8ft x 4ft section of the site communal tunnel which was erected to encourage 'disabled' gardeners but none ever took up the offer, so a few of us share it to keep it in working order.

Then if a disabled gardener/s comes along then we will vacate it.

You're right there. They look superb. My Cobra are still on the way but I don't expect them to look as good as that.
