Hi does anybody use old tea (dried out) when seeding or general growing. I do and get amazing results, whether it is because it stays damp longer or acts as a compost I dont know but it seems to speed on germination nicely.

All my veg are treated to a cuppa and again after potting out. The tea is Yorkshire Tea mind, not you everyday Typhoo rubbish. :)

Regards

we use it as a compost mulch around pieris and aquilegia, they seem to like it, all the old tea bags get composted and the cold tea gets fed to everything, never thought of using it to sow seed in though

I only use red bush tea & a co called fine naturals supply the left overs for garden mulch & the like.
