Title: Cabbage leaves splitting?

My cabbages have done really well but does anyone know what has caused some of the leaves to split.

In my humble opinion,if the leaves are splitting they need to be lifted.

The recent rain will have caused continued growth and in "Heading" cabbage with a tight heart they have to split to bolt... and flower...  :-\
