It's usually divided/transplanted while dormant so anytime from November until early March.

thank you
I've never thought of growing rhubarb form seed. Is it easy? Where did you get the seed from? I'd like to try.
i bought a packet of seed, i may have one or two you can have if you like
They take a bit longer from seed, but it's perfectly practical. If you're dividing them, you may find they need a year's rest before you start cropping again, especially if you do it late. November's the best time, then they've got all winter to settle in.
Is that the best time to plant new ones too ?
Yes but if there is any chance of waterlogging I'd keep it in a pot and put it out in late Feb/ early March... :)
Thanks for advice :)
saddad if i leave them in the pot til feb will i be able to use them in the summer or will i need to leave them for a year, there is nothing wrong with the ones in the garden they are just in an awkward place so i could split that a move it at the same time if that is the only one im gonna be able to use next year
