Okay okay, I know it's not much of a feast and that it'll probably drop off in about a week but it's here NOW - so come on all you optimists, get the pitta bread ready!
Reminds me of the joy I felt with my one cucumber LOL :)
That's our picnic sorted, then!
Any more?
What is it, Amazin??
For the second year running, my Olive which is about 7 feet tall has flowers.
How big and old is yours and is it in a pot?
Yup, it's an olive (singular, but I live in hope).
Mine is about three years old, in a large pot, and has flowered every year since I've had it but not a hint of fruit until now.
Think I'll go whittle some cocktail sticks.
;D
Very cute Amazin. Olives are one thing I do not like, but I still fancy growing a tree just for the challenge!
It's a really pretty tree, Sparkly - with or without the 'harvest'.
;D
Hubby brought me a standard olive tree earlier this year, it's about 4' tall in it's pot, not only has it flowered but it now has little fruit on it - is there any chance I will get to eat them?
Helen x
I understand it is possible in England but it depends on the variety.
It is not as simple as pulling them off the tree and eating them as they are too bitter.
I think they have to be soaked in brine and it is quite a palaver.
Good luck!
mine has an abundance of flowers no fruit yet its 5f tall in a big pot, had one olive on last year but never grow to full olive size ;)
