Mulching reduces the need for supplemental watering and keeps the moisture content of the soil fairly constant. Most organic mulches are suitable; newspaper held down with a heavier material on top is an excellent moisture conserver in corn."

we've just had 16 tons of 7 year old manure delivered, will use some to mulch up, thanks for the reminder ;D
cool, knew i was saving newspaper with goodn reason! will put that down round them rtomorrow and chuck some manure on the top, i reeeeeeeeeeally want some sweetcorn!!! i cant get down tow ater on the off days so i hope it works! thanx tim! lou xx
