I discovered these holes this morning on my Canna and was hoping that someone might know what did it ? ???

I would say slugs or snails when the leaf was still  tender before it unfolded.

It's the origami beetle!

Actually slugs or snails have taken one bite out of the still rolled up leaf. It's so annoying but quite common.

It's not a leaf miner. They eat out the central layer of tissue in a leaf, leaving the top and bottom layers, so if you hold it up to the light you can see the 'mine' with the grub in it.
