Title: lupin bulbs
Post by: daileg on July 01, 2008, 07:33:18
looking for some advice, planted about 2 half dozen lupin bulbs into pots as i was told there better off there in there first year.
And then re plant to the garden for the second,
but have had them in pots now for allmost month to six weeks havent seen a thing from them .
Question is how long before i see a result ?
see i bought them on special one pack half dozen was 50p or do you think there past the good life ?
Or am i needing to be a little patient with the waiting period

Not aware lupins had bulbs, new one for me.

If you brought dried up crowns they are probably well dead if you haven't seen any action.

Plant some seeds now,  they will make good plants for next year.

Yes I think they are past it.  Put some seeds in the same pots if you want to leave them.

I HATE garden centres/shops that leave the spring packed perennials hanging up till the autumn bulbs come in..they have a short shelf life if you stand any chance with them.

I told the owner of my local centre that she was insulting her customers leaving dried dahlias tubers hanging around till last weekend,  she has removed them but am sure she would have taken £1.95 a pack from anyone daft enough to buy them.
