Title: Nice place to visit in Yorkhire
Post by: caroline7758 on June 29, 2008, 09:57:47
Went to Helmsley Walled Garden for the first time yesterday. It's a beautiful garden, lovingly restored by volunteers. Sadly the woman whosedream it was died shortly after it opened to the public, but what a memorial! Will try to get OH to put up some pics later, but here's the website if you're interested (sadly not many pics there)

Wished we'd gone today as there is a "Hidden Gardens of Helmsley" event on which we could have seen as well.

Looks lovely Caroline.  Its a pity we never went there when we were caravanning nearby few years back.  We were in Helmsley quite a bit as well.  Always loads of motor bykers there.

;)

I will have to get myself sorted and see all these gardens in my own county.

Helmsley is a place where my kids have been with school, but I (shamefully) have never been.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics Caroline.

Jo.
