Post by: aquilegia on August 03, 2004, 09:24:49
Anyone want to join in? Drums at the ready.

It certainly looks like it's going to rain...

That's funny - I've just had a report from Mr Aqui that it's raining in Farringdon.

It was spitting here (slightly more north and east of Farringdon).

Rain dance has worked here Aqui (Hertfordshire) - it's been raining steadily now for the last half an hour.

We haven't had the thunder storms that were forecast, thank goodness.  Anyone else had them?

Worked a treat last night here folks. Bit of thunder, then just refreshing rain, all or if not most of the night, and sunny today. Perfect!  ;D

The story in this part of sunny Chelmsford......cut the grass at 9.30am, unplugged lawn mower at 10am, and down came the rain!  Good timing.  By 11am, gorgeous, with a light breeze, so 4 loads of washing on the line drying nicely.  Of course it would rain, Ava watered the front garden last nite.

blimey it's muggy here. A mug so big it could hold tea for every person on this planet for a week.

Or something like that anyway.

I've been too busy to do much more of a rain dance (pah - how dare they make me work at work?!) so will dance the whole way home. Why walk through life when you can dance?

Al-RIGHT - you can STOP DANCING!!

I'll let you know tomorrow how much we had, but in 2 prolonged thunderstorms today, it must have been considerable. Much flooding locally. And, of course, no using cordless phones all the time it was doing it. Or a4a!! Those who watered yesterday were not wasting their time - breaks the surface tension. = Tim

Well, didn't I speak too soon.  Had to go out in the car this afternoon and BOY did the heavens open - had to stop, just couldn't see to drive :o

Finally got back home to find one of my dogs going absolutely crazy, poor thing he was absolutely terrified - the other one just runs around barking.  Took about three hours to calm them down as the thunder kept on rumbling round.  Oh well, at lest we wont have to water the garden for a while and the butts are nice and full again ;) :)

:)Where is it? all around so the news tells me there's rain, why is it like a desert in this part of Kent? We got cloud, muggy air, we need some of the wet stuff. I felt sure we'd have some last night so didn't water, just had to go round and do it. I'll be having mirages soon.

Rain?  What rain!! Heybridge had 2 or 3 heavy showers last night and that was that.  Couple of odd grumbles of thunder, no lightning and NOT ENOUGH RAIN!!

OK who turned the taps on here when I got back from holiday? Do you think you could turn 'em OFF now please or me ponds will be overflowing!!! You could always install a new tap for Viv and Val but please can you let me get on with my weeding and deadheading before you chuck any more of the wet stuff this way. Ta muchly!!!!!

The utter nutter - Eileen.

I think I got the rain dance wrong. Due to my dodgy left knee, the rain was concentrated in West London (ie - the west side of the capital). Very little penetrated to the east (where I am). We had a light shower which started when I was watering the toms. I raised my arms to the heavens and thanked Mrs Nature for providing the precipitation so I wouldn't have to water the rest of the garden and went indoors. Then it stopped raining. ::)
