Although i have paid my subs every year i have been on here i am not sure as to do we pay them every year or was the £10 a one of payment as mine is now due again.
It is due every year. Mine is done automatic through Paypal. So I never have to complete anymore forms. You can do this via the A4A site. Click on your 'PROFILE', then 'PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS' then just complete the form and click annual automatic with paypal
Cheers KT done i looked every where to find that guess it must be the partimers or alzymers or something like that.
You dont have to pay it of course...

But it is a good site and I get loads of valuable information from it that I would never have known where to look for, I use it loads and loads. Get on here most days - when not working. Have some great laughs on here too.
I have known for a while that money changed hands on this site, but have never been made aware of what one is actually purchasing.
I have many, many interests, and there are numerous forums which cover\discuss them, but never come across any which charge you for its use.
actively modded, 24 hr access, picture posting, advice, a laugh, a moan, well worth it! and not financed by any corporation with issues! well done Dan! ;)
If you click on paid subscriptions you will see that you are paying for the ability to post pictures. If you do not wish to post pictures then you do not have to pay anything.
I agree with all that tonybloke has mentioned. I know you can post pics from other sources FOC but IMO it is so easy with A4A. To me well worth the £10 a year and if it helps to keep A4A continuing then I am happy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the site, Dan The Man, the members or anyone.
But...

That's the whole reason for a forum's existance, and, once again, same on every other forum and no money requested.
I created, modded and ran a forum with over 1000 menbers and it was a d**n sight more controversial than lotties, and at no time did I think of using it to make money.
Once again, I'm not getting at anyone, but don't see why this forum should ask for money to do the same thing that thousands of other sites do just for the love of the subject.
The sub is only if you want to directly post pictures instead of linking them. I expect the reason is the extra server space required to store pictures rather than just text/links.
Pumper, I don't think Dan has actually ever asked anybody to cough up. He just let everybody know they could donate if they wanted to. As has been stated, photos can be uploaded from numerous sites across the www so personally I don't think that's the only reason people like to donate here :) It's just reminded me actually that I think I did make some ridiculous little donation about four years ago so I really ought to send another lot! ;D ;D For me it's worth it on the information alone because without all of the advice I read on here, I'd have paid out x amount more on books! (without the added bonus of nice people too) It's also a must for me because I like to be able to find my advice all in one place :)
If the cap fits.
I only asked how to make a donation and greatfully received an answer.
Personally i don,t give a toss if anyone wants to pay or not.
I don,t need any one to point out that i don,t have to pay or that other forums are actively modded for free. If i wish to donate £10 to the upkeep of this sight then that is down to me.
I have no doubt there are people who post on this Forum who would like to donate but they are not in a position to do so. If my £10 helps keep this line of communication open for them then its money well spent. If some one has learned something about gardening and has been successful in growing veg, flowers, or any thing else related to this Forum even if its just general chat for members who find they have some company or made a friend to chat to then my money is well spent.
Before i put my dummy back in i would be greatfull if this thread be terminated rather than make one person feel guilty about not being able to donate because they can not afford it.

Just upload and link to photobucket which is free..
Do'nt get me wrong - i'm not knocking people for making a donation to the running of the site. However i feel strongly that these kind of forums should be free, to encourage more users to sign up and join in...
At my last job we had a remote virtual server for work (basically a server shared between a few users), we ran a large database for handling alarms from multiple GSM alarm units, a web interface for the database, there was also a (free) support forum runing on it, and our company website - it only cost £20 per month... Of course this site may need more space and faster connection than we needed, but just to give people an idea of costs....
Also remember everytime you click on the ads at the top Dan gets a few pence! We should all make an effort to click on one once in every visit ;D
