Nice one, Red!

Robbed? It is a catalogue picture. Would I touch a variety that related to Moneymaker??

Tee hee-I have grown them-well no point in being critical without trying

Nice tomatoes but again lacking any real flavour in my opinion.

I seldom grow F1 hybrids but I am trying `Vanessa` this year just to see

I grow Shirley every year and it's my Mum's favourite - reliable heavy cropper with a decent taste, but now I know it's related to Moneymaker........... ;)

PS Actually I'm not sure it's related becuase I've never seen it mentioned before - I suspect someone is using a well known 'brand' to sell a less well known one.

...but it doesn't claim to be a relation, does it?  ??? Anyway, I know it's controversial, but MM is nowhere near as bad as some. Like those horrid little insipid gardenpearl things.

Tried Gartenperle last year, but treated them very badly - would agree they were a bit insipid. Plan to be be nice to them this year (larger container, regular water and feed). If they don't taste better than last year's they're off the list - no mercy :)

Judging by the MM I've grown (it was my first two years, I was young and didn't know what I was doing) and those I've seen in GC's,  I suspect there are an awful lot of MM on sale, not all of which are the same variety of MM.
