Ray's dad is 89 today, he's been more like a dad to me for many years than my own, he's always there if we need help
so, just thought I'd let everyone know what a great father-in-law he turned out to be ;D
Are you having a party Manics?
we're all going out with ray's brother and his wife, having a nice meal then back to their house in lytham st annes, mum's got heart failure and dad's on 2 sticks now so we keep the celebrations subdued ;D
Manic?? I'll try to follow suit on Father's Day!!
Sorry - your post crossed.
I hope you have a great day together.
Sadly both of ours passed away in 1984... but I've just been brought a card and two bars of lactose free choc... by my own sons... so I'm going to have a little party of my own. ;D
I hope that hes getting double presents ;D
Hope you are all having a wonderful day. I was also blessed with a wonderful Father-in-law but sadly he didn't live to a ripe old age (69) but I have wonderful memories.
My common-in-law-father-in-law (Jack - I share my allotment with him) is one of the most wonderul people I've ever had the priviledge of not being related to in marriage :D
We've had our allotments for that last 5 yrs together & he'll be the 1st to admit that I am a pain in the ASS! And I'd be the 1st to admit the same about HIM!
But I truly & sincerely love him to bits.
He's 80 this year & has just phoned me to say he's having a few days off because his heart isn't so good :(
I'll get him back on the lottie by the end of the week though :D Mark my words ;)
What a lovely post.
I would love to be able to post the same, but unfortunately my in-laws haven't spoken to us (or our kids) for the past four years ::)
I hope he really enjoyed his day.
Jo.
well, we're all back, lovely day, met up for a meal, back to ray's brothers for strawberries and cream (from our allotment, been babying them along)..had a good time, looking back at holidays we've been on, we all used to go together and had a real good laugh
just dropped mum and dad off at home, tired but happy.
mum in law's birthday in july, same age :)
just thought, he's only middle aged compared to his dad, ray's grandad died at 107 :o
Glad you all had a good day ;D
Jo.
It's good to hear that you all had a great day. ;D Hope your Mum in Laws b'day goes just as well in July.

I am happy to say that my step-daughter feels the same way, and she's more of a daughter to me than my own.
Sunday morning I was helping unload steel girders from a lorry next door (no, I wasn't lifting them, only directing the crane driver), we were blocking the road when two horseriders came along. I stopped the driver and directed them through but it turned out to be my step-daughter and granddaughter. They live six miles away and had ridden over to see us.
jo9919,
They dont know what their missing.

Thanks Gordon.
That's just what I tell my kids when they ask why their grandparent's don't want to see them :'(
Jo.
I really got on with my Father-in-law when he was alive we would go down the leg iron together and even started to work at the same place, but my Mother-in-law is another story :(
