Title: Rootless cucumbers
Post by: caroline7758 on June 14, 2008, 13:17:24
I potted up my Marketmore cucumbers into 6" pots about 3-4 weeks ago, but when I came to plant them out this week, they seemed to have very little root growth on them. Is this normal or do you think something has got at them? No sign of anything in the compost as far as I could see. ???

Mine have been in their final resting position for 4 weeks now.  But when I potted them on stage by stage,  they certainly grew well within any three week period.

They did get very wet just before they were potted up thanks to a leaky greenhouse. Ah well, will see how they do. I've kept one in the greenhouse and put the rest out.

Will do!I've kept the healthiest one inside as I hold out more hope for it there- it's got one cuke about 2" long whereas the others are only about 1" and looking a bit weedy!
