:'( :'( :'( Three of my earlies something Pilot were looking so well up to a few days ago.Noticed tonight they had collapsed and dieing, dug them out not a single spud.Planted early April. The foliage on the rest of them still looks OK so left them alone and wait and see.Any ideas what may have happened.??

I did some Epicure in tubs in Jan, we dug them out 2 weeks ago to find 8 miniscule marbles. The foliage was fine on ours, I cant think what might have been the problem. I havent heard of your problem before either Betula.

Sorry I cant be more helpful :(

I dug up all of my Swift this week planted 28 Feb and no potatoes but mine have been sitting in weedkiller all spring apparently.

Betula, did you check for beasties in the roots/ seed potatoes?

Star, did they get enough water?

Yes I believe they had adequate water, the compost was moist but not sodden. They had plenty of time to bulk up....................sigh

A nutrient inbalance in the soil perhaps?
