When will these be ready?? Lots of flowers not nothing yet.
Not sure when I planted as can't find my book since I moved our computer but didn't over winter. I've usually eaten and planted something else in there space by now. Never grown this variety before.
I think we're in the same boat Rosy. Loads of flowers, well visited by bees, but not much sign of beans yet.
Its not a forte of mine, but I think patience is called for (it has been in previous years).
We are not growing The Sutton variety, prefer the green-beaned varieties such as imperial green longpod, or masterpiece green longpod. Much more tender and tasty.
Having said that, any beans left too long on the plants can get a bit tough.
It's that patience bit again. Everything's coming along nicely, but I'd just like to be eating some of it ;D ;D.

I have a few beans coming along now but alot of black fly which isn't good.
It's just patience; the pods do form in the end. Then you have to wait and see how many beans are inside; if they haven't been properly pollinated there are hardly any. That happened to me last year; I planted 50 crimson-flowered beans, they bloomed during the worst of the weather, and I only got 20 beans! I planted them all today, along with some more I bought.
I know, I know RB, but you do get a bit impatient at this time of year ;D ;D Well at least I do ;D
