Title: Bother!!!
Post by: heyho on June 10, 2008, 07:59:21
Have been spending a lot of time at the NEW allotment recently but just when I thought I was getting on top of things the bloody pond has now sprung a leak.

A funny leak as well. No water to be seen anwhere. It started about three weeks ago and lost about 6" so I thought it must be a puncture on one of the ridges but being stable I wasn't too fussed (too much allotment work to do). Then on Sunday night it suddenly lost another 18" leaving a miserly 12" in the deepest part, just enough for the dozen or so Orfe/Goldfish to live.

So it's a total clear out and a new liner (which I will simply place over the old one).

I spend five years creating a maintenance free garden and this happens.

;D ;D ;D

I replaced my liner yesterday. It turns out that the flag iris had exploited the seam I made when I put the pond in a few years ago.
