Title: Growing brassicas ...
Post by: MindBodyandSoil on June 09, 2008, 14:52:08
Can anyone tell me if I am in time for planting any brassicas? Had my first sowings decimated by evil pigeons!!! The fleece got nicked off the top, and the birds feasted!

Well I've sown some more at home to plant up lottie as the slugs got mine, so fingers crossed.  I think they should be ok, just later than planned!

Sow your Spring cabbage now & next month.

And never say die - this was bitten off by a slug some weeks ago, dipped in rooting powder & put out today.

Just had the nice little birds take all my collies and cabbage and it is all my fault for not netting them, so tomorrow I'm planting another two dozen of each this time with netting  ;)

Not too late to plant, I olanted brussels today.

If your local graden centres don't have any look at sites like Marshall's, T&M, and Suttons they are doing brassica collection's so you get a good variety of all that can be planted now.
