Title: Lack lustre
Post by: tim on August 01, 2004, 12:41:41
Why do do some toms lack it?? Like the ones in the front. That's a pink one at the back. = Tim

You mean the dull look? Still, it looks like one fantastic collection of tomatoes to me, could just sink my teeth into any of them.

My tomato cage experiment is not a success. You think some of yours lack lustre, you should see the ones out of the cage (surrounded by buble wrap but open at the top and bottom), they have callous-like skin. Brownish wrinkles and tough. Still good for cooking but not pretty at all.

Are you sure this isnt just a sneaky way of showing off the two big ones at the back whilst not seeming to be bragging ?

I'll rise to that - wait till the BIG ones come along!!

No, seriously - why should some have a lack-lustre skin?? Very un-appetising. = Tim

30 years ago, Tim, I was 'lucky' enough to taste test a new tomato called Nemato. Tomato Root Knot nematode resistant (hence the name), looked like a real tomato, normal texture too. Tasted of nothing. You can't have everything all the time!
